My First Cookbook: The Taste of HER Journey

My debut cookbook is finally here!

A shared dream, a gathered table. I cannot wait to welcome you into my kitchen!

A sensory and poetic journey across the sacred landscapes of the Mediterranean. The Taste of Her Journey is much more than a simple cookbook: it is a rich sensory, historical, and spiritual exploration. Through 100 creative recipes and evocative stories, Swaane Lauwaert retraces Mary Magdalene’s legendary path—from the sun-drenched shores of Galilee to the serene silence of the Sainte-Baume massif in Provence.

Events, parties and catering

I cater for all types of events – mostly for retreats but also for parties, corporate entertaining, weddings, festivals, crew catering, in-home cooking and everything in between.

In addition, I host special dinners inspired by Mary Magdalene, featuring recipes straight from my cookbook, The Taste of Her Journey.

With 20 years catering experience I can create original and exciting menus to suit varying budgets and facilities – mostly plant based of course, but we can talk about everything.

La cheffe nomade: retreats and more

For years I have been travelling through France to assist people organizing a retreat. With a car and suitcase full of pots and pans, beautiful serving dishes and wonderful scenting spices, I drive everywhere and work with you to develop a menu that takes the wishes of all guests into account. Together we will make it a fantastic retreat because as everyone knows: the kitchen is the beating heart and means so much more than a full stomach.

“The food was an initiation of its own. It was not simply nourishment for the body – it carried love, devotion and the joy of Swaane who prepared it.”

Swaane LAUWAERT

I live in the Provence, France, after many years travelling and learning to cook from different cultures, and spices from all over the world. My natural kitchen is a beautiful mix of the colourful Mediterranean cuisine, the flavours of the middle east and the healthy ayurvedic homeostasis, mostly based on vegetables. But the most important ingredient is <love>, the love for vegetables, the love for cooking, the love for sharing food with others.

With love,

Swaane Lauwaert
